Day 12 - Sea Day 5 of 5

Drink of the Day – Casablanca

Today was our final sea day before reaching Salvador de Bahia, Brazil. Although we have actually been sailing alongside Brazil for the past several days, we will finally be able set foot on their soil tomorrow morning. We are all very excited and anxious to finally be seeing South America.

Today was relatively uneventful. We all sat out at the pool this morning until around 1:30 or so when the captain announced that we would be heading into a rainstorm with heavy winds. About 20 minutes later the skies opened and it poured for several hours. Once it started to rain we decided to head in and get cleaned up. Deedee and Jane played bingo this afternoon and were one number away from winning the big prize. Bummer.

Tonight it is raining again. We are sure hoping it stops before morning. Every night our room attendant, Beverly, leaves a little towel creature for us. The picture below reminded us of Jane’s little wiener dogs.

  1. I'm looking at your weather - +81 - Downers Grove is currently -11 (that's a difference of almost 100 degrees!). It looks like you ladies are having a wonderful time - Linda--I am looking forward to a warm summer night, sipping a tropical cocktail on our decks. Are you getting the recipes of these drinks of the day?

  2. You all really need to savor that delicious weather you are experiencing...even the rain... because we are all shivering in our heavy coats, scarves, hats and mittens... it got down to -18 at O'Hare last night....and I am more and more depressed as we had yet another 'snow' day today...that's 3 already this year.... and it extends our school year by 3 days.... don't know how I'll make it!
Anyway... truly enjoying your escapades, and wishing I could be there enjoying too, instead of just vicariously!
