Day 15 - Rio de Janeiro

Drink of the Day – Mi Amor

Today has been exciting. As we approached Rio de Janeiro our ship was surrounded by several huge pods of dolphins. They were literally jumping and falling back onto the water making loud plopping sounds as the landed. This lasted for at least 20 minutes or so before they all swam away. Linda tried to snap photos and Jane recorded them on a video. The video is too large to post but some of the photos did turn out.

Early this afternoon we pulled into Rio de Janeiro. It was by far a spectacular experience as we cruised passed beautiful beaches, forts, buildings, and ships all framed by mountains. We could even see the statue of Christ the Redeemer above the city.

In case any of our Midwest friends are concerned, we are managing well in the 90+ degree weather in spite of the humidity. If we could figure out how to do it, we would send some of our heat to you. In the mean time, stayed bundled up and remember, spring will be coming in just a few more months.
